Do you love skating?
You already have some driving experience and enjoy driving a bit faster now and then?
Do you look up to those speedy lads and lasses you see whizzing around the sports hall?

Then our competitive section might just be the thing for you!

During competitive training sessions, your skills will be further honed, with a focus on speed, body posture, starting technique, and more. Your endurance will also be developed under expert guidance.

As well as training sessions, you’ll also have the chance to take part in competitions both at home and abroad. It’s the perfect way to put the techniques you’ve learnt into practice and get a taste of what competition is like.

How do I get started?

You are always welcome to join the training sessions, subject to consultation with your coach. You can join via our Start2Speed sessions, which take place weekly. Younger competitive members often take part in these too, making it easy for you to progress to the ‘real’ competition. The coaches will be happy to help you find the right programme for you.

For these training sessions, it is recommended, but not compulsory, to use competition skates. You can hire these through the club upon payment of a deposit. Proper protective gear is also essential!

If you’re really keen to take part in competitions, you can sign up as a competition member. You’ll then be given a competition number and access to extra training sessions. You’ll also need to order your competition outfit and any training gear separately. That way, you’ll be all set to represent our club!

You can always ask the trainers or club officials for further information.
