The leisure department offers you a taste of the full range of activities. The sessions on Wednesdays and Sundays always provide a healthy mix of activities. It helps you improve your skating skills in an enjoyable way: you’ll become more flexible and stable, and feel safer – even in traffic.

Of course, we’d also like to remind you about visibility and safety on the roads: wear a helmet and protective gear; and once it gets dark, it’s best to wear a high-visibility vest and use lights as well. This way, other road users can spot you more easily and approach you safely.

Quite a few children and their parents come to us because their son or daughter has been given a pair of skates and is just rolling around on them at home and in the street. Our lessons offer the chance to do a bit more than just roll around.

Depending on interest, we organise groups and classes to take things further. Slalom, hockey, basketball, football; we cover it all! During the summer, we head outdoors as much as possible: we’re regulars at the roller parades in Brussels, Hasselt and Dessel. But even on weekdays, we get together in small groups to go on little tours through beautiful parts of Flanders or even beyond the country’s borders.

From what age are children welcome? Our recommended minimum age is 6, but many children are ready to join sooner. If they are able to follow instructions from someone other than their parent, and are used to being looked after at camps, etc., then they can easily join from a younger age.
Still not sure? Then do pop in and try a lesson. You can sign up properly after three sessions, but by then you’ll definitely have caught the skating bug!

Classes run from September to June (including during the school holidays, unless the sports hall is closed or further notice is given!).

The recreational classes continue to take place at the Heverlee Sports Hall, 182 Hertogstraat.
