Training sessions for the competition have been divided into three groups:

  • Youngsters: Minimes up to and including schoolchildren (aged 7–12)
    (You can start earlier, but you must be at least 7 years old to take part in the competitions)
  • Cadets: a group specifically aimed at cadets (aged 13–14)
  • Adults: from juniors to seniors (aged 15 and over)

Winter period (October to April, with a focus on fitness)

Competition training sessions for school-age children and younger:

Weekly online core exercises designed to improve overall stability.

Wednesday: attending the advanced indoor training session

Sunday: taking part in Start2Speed and (part of) the competition training session

Competition training sessions for cadets:

to be agreed with the trainers; see Ordolio

about four times a week

Competition training sessions for youth teams:

Monday: 7.30 pm – Haasrode *
Tuesday: 7.30 pm – Haasrode *
Wednesday: 7.30 pm – cycling*
Thursday: 7.00 pm – Kessel-Lo track
Friday: rest day
Saturday: 11.00 – Mechelen track
Sunday: 11.00 am – 1.00 pm Heverlee Sports Hall (from 3 November 2019 to 29 March 2020)

Summer period (April to October, with a focus on technique and interval training)

Competition training sessions for pupils and below:

Tuesday: 7.00–8.30 pm to 9.00 pm, Tienen track
Thursday: 7.00–8.30 pm to 9.00 pm, Kessel-Lo track
Saturday: 11.00–12.30, Mechelen/Tienen track

Competition training sessions for cadets and above:

5 to 6 times a week; training times are posted on Ordolio

Weekend: Depending on matches and/or training sessions

Venues where most competition training sessions take place:

  • Heverlee Sports Hall, Hertogstraat, 3001 Heverlee
  • Kessel-Lo: Inline skating track at the Provincial Domain, entrance via Vijverlaan or Domeinstraat // entrance via the Bruineveld football pitches during the winter months!
  • Tienen: Tienen Inline Skating Track, Houtemveld, via Tennisstraat, Tienen
  • Haasrode Industrial Estate: Interleuvenlaan 10 (meeting point – near SD Worx)
  • Mechelen: Leliestraat, Mechelen (next to the swimming pool)

* During the darker months, you must wear lights and a high-visibility vest as we’ll be out on public roads! The group is supervised by volunteer parents. If you don’t have lights and/or a high-visibility vest, you won’t be allowed to take part in the session!

In the event of rain, inline skating sessions will be replaced by cycling sessions or GRIT sessions. Details of these sessions will be announced at the time.
