Roll & Skate has had its own roller derby team since 2024. Roller derby originated in the US and is a contact sport played indoors in teams on quad skates. We follow WFTDA guidelines for competitions, and the team consists of women of legal age (people with a non-binary gender identity are also welcome).
Training sessions take place between September and June, on Wednesdays from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm in Leuven city centre. In addition, regular activities are organised to help you get to know all aspects of the sport, such as gameplay watch parties, volunteering at tournaments, joint training sessions with other teams, and more.
Once you’ve mastered the basic skating techniques, we’ll move on to contact training. As a team, we’ll work on our tactics throughout the year and play friendly scrimmages against other Belgian teams. As we progress as a team, we’ll also be able to take part in domestic and international competitions.
